Little Christophe keeps falling over: on the tractor, at school, at the dinner table, for no reason at all. The doctors say he must wear an iron corset to stand up straight. Forced to step away from the expectations of his stern, distant father on the family farm, Christophe discovers music, new friends and even mischief in his new life. Drawing on his own childhood in rural France, Louis Clichy creates a moving, colourful coming-of-age story, drawn by hand in India ink on paper and painted in watercolour. “This story is personal to me, because I wore a corset as a child and I still do,” says Clichy. “I wanted to share that experience and also have some fun with it.”
